Notice of Budget Committee Meeting

A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Mary's River Estates Road District, Benton County, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for fiscal year July1, 2005 to June 30, 2006, will be held at 34295 Iris Circle, Philomath, Oregon. The meeting will take place on the 27th day of June, 2005, at 7pm. The purpose of the meeting is to review the budget, to receive comment from the public on the budget and, if possible, to accept a budget for the Budget Hearing. A copy of the budget documents may be inspected or obtained after June 14, 2005, at 34295 Iris Circle between the hours of 9am and 8pm. This is a public hearing where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.

Notice of Maintenance Required by Property Owners

General Maintenance

At the regular June meeting, the Road District Commissioners clarified that property owners are responsible for maintaining the roadway up to the roads in a way that does not hinder travel on the roads. However, the Road District will help by mowing a strip or two each year to improve visibility. The Road District may also harvest or trim trees in the right-of-way that overhang the road or appear to be in danger of falling on the road or blocking visibility.

Noxious Weeds

All of us need to be concerned about non-native plants that overtake natural vegetation. The Commissioners have tried to take the lead by removing scotch broom, and now each property owner should root out these plants on their property. If similar plants invade our area, please bring a proposed eradication program to one of our meetings for consideration.
